Forgive me blog....

I can't believe it's been over 3 weeks since I last posted!  Whoops!  The holidays and work caught up to me.

So what is new?  On our end the holidays were a blast and everyone got what they wanted.  Me, especially!  Check out my rockin new Cannondale Quick 4!  The only problem is that I think my husband might have been talked into getting the wrong size frame for me????  We did one 8 mile ride and it felt like I wanted to sit farther back from the handlebars.  I felt like my knees were too close to the bars and then they hurt afterward.  Does anyone have any advice?  I hate to take my beauty of a bike back but I want something that feels good to ride.  No matter what my husband scored major bonus points for this!
Not only did my awesome husband get me a bike but he also got me an Akabill amulet to bring good luck to my running!  <3  I haven't taken it off yet!

And all of that good luck must have worked because I ran a 30:53 in the January 1st Harmony Silvester 5k.  That's a post-baby PR of 50 seconds, even on a hilly course!  I forgot my camera so no pictures but I ran without my Garmin and overdressed.  I dressed for our usual weather of 30-ish degrees lately and it ended up being right around 55!  Wow!  I was so hot I ended up running the last mile in my sports bra!  Sorry if you're one of the people who were blinded by my whiteness!

I also went from being pretty tight financially to making big bucks.  No, I didn't get a raise or a new job.  I did, however, get assigned to a long term project that requires 60 hour work weeks.  I hate the hours but I love the paychecks.  It should help pay for the bathroom remodeling project my husband started! ;)  It also paid for my new haircut!

I didn't love it at first but I chopped a few more layers in myself and took my (better) flat iron to it and now I like it.  I got a ton of compliments today at work!

All in all it's been a great start to the new year.  And with the Frigid 5 Miler coming up this weekend I am very excited to hopefully set a new PR for that distance as well!  I hope the new year is bringing you all new PR's and happy running!  Cheers!
